The Scott Scale RC 400 brings performance and fun together in one capable junior mountain bike. Designed for young riders who are ready to take their trail riding to the next level, it shares the same DNA as Scott’s world championship-winning adult bikes — just scaled down for smaller riders.

At its heart is a lightweight 6061 aluminium frame with custom tubing and kid-specific geometry, giving the perfect mix of low weight, strength and control. The compact frame makes it easier for younger riders to handle technical sections, while the responsive geometry builds confidence whether they’re tackling local trails or practising race skills.

Up front, the RST F1RST Air fork provides 60 mm of travel, tuned specifically for lighter riders. It helps smooth out bumps and roots while offering a lock-out function for efficient pedalling on flatter terrain. The air spring design means it can be easily adjusted as your child grows or gains confidence.

The Microshift ADVENT 9-speed drivetrain offers reliable shifting and a wide gear range to handle climbs, descents and everything in between. The short-reach shifters and clutch-equipped rear derailleur make gear changes smooth and controlled, even on rough trails.

For braking, Shimano MT410 hydraulic discs deliver strong, predictable stopping power in all conditions — giving young riders the control they need on descents and corners. The 24" Alex MD19 wheels are fitted with Schwalbe Rocket Ron Evolution tyres, known for their fast rolling and dependable grip across a range of surfaces.

Scott has finished the Scale RC 400 with high-quality components throughout, including Syncros Kids grips and saddle, LEADTEC alloy cockpit, and a Prowheel chainset with 30T chainring. Every detail has been chosen to keep the weight low, the handling sharp, and the experience enjoyable.
